How to sell your home yourself

If you sell without an estate agent, we call it a self-sale — you run the process yourself, from listing and viewing to bidding round and agreement. Finnting gives you the tools to do it safely and properly.

What you get with Finnting

A free property listing — upload photos, enter the address, and publish. The address lookup pulls in what we know about the property and makes the form easier to fill in.

What you handle yourself

Finnting is a tool, not an estate agent. As an owner-seller you take care of:

Viewings — planning, hosting and talking to interested buyers.
The condition report — an authorised building surveyor is recommended (see Responsibility and safety below).
The purchase contract and settlement after an accepted bid — use a lawyer or an authorised settlement firm for the money transfer itself and the land registration (see below).

What does it cost?

Posting the listing and running the bidding round is free for private individuals through 2027. The condition report, settlement assistance and any insurance are independent of Finnting and priced by the professionals you engage.

Responsibility and safety

As the seller, you are liable under avhendingslova (the Norwegian property sale act). A thorough condition report from an authorised building surveyor gives the buyer an accurate picture of the home and protects you against claims afterwards. After a bid is accepted, we recommend using a lawyer or an authorised settlement firm — large sums and land registration should always go through a professional third party. Finnting handles no money and is not a party to the transaction.
